Experience The building and construction industry is a very dynamic workplace, and one I have been involved in since 1977. After completing a trade in Carpentry and Joinery, I then ran a building business from the Sunshine Coast up north to Darwin. After returning to Innisfail and then Townsville, I joined the Building Services Authority as an inspector and was later promoted to the position of Area Manager. It was during this time that I successfully completed a Bachelor Degree in Building Surveying at Central Queensland University and was then able to obtain my qualification and membership to the Australian Institue of Building Surveyors (A.I.B.S) at Building Surveyor level. Working on many and varied building sites has given me a wide ranging experience in the building and construction field. During this time I have worked on: domestic projects ranging from renovation/extension work to new homes. commercial and industrial projects ranging from shops, to sheds, to high rise residential units to warehouses. Professional Development: It is a mandatory requirement of the AIBS that ALL members maintain a register (CPD points) of their Continuing Professional Development in order to keep abreast of the technical and legislative changes to the building industry. Members attend local and interstate seminars to maintain their level of knowledge. We encourage all those involved in the building and construction industry, to maintain a high level of awareness of the changes that are constantly being made by attending any meetings or seminars in their region. Acacia Building Approvals can provide the following services to our clients: Building Approvals: From extension/renovation work to sheds, warehouses, and industrial buildings, to multi-storey residential complexes. We can assess them all. Building Inspections: All technical inspections are carried out in strict accordance with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and its referenced Australian Standards (ASs). Building Certification: The adherence of the local Town Planning scheme is absolutely critical to the certification process. We pride ourselves on having 'hard copies' or electronic access to the Town Planning schemes that we work within. Compliance Reports: As owners change the use for their buildings, they require a report on whether these buildings comply with the BCA.
No state or commonwealth licence has been tied to this business in our public sources. This is common for unlicensed trades or for businesses that have not yet been resolved against a jurisdictional register.
