FURNITURE Please make sure all furniture that can be is disassembled prior to the drivers arrival. The drivers don't normally do this for you as it is time consuming and they carry limited tools. Covering your furniture with plastic covers will help prevent it getting from dusty. We will however, wrap all furniture in felt wraps/pads to prevent damage in transit. When obtaining a quote, please specify the measurements of any bulky furniture or abnormal items so we may allow sufficient space. It will also ensure no surprises with regard to the price. BREAKABLES Separately wrap each items before storing in packing boxes and avoid placing heavy items on top! It is a good idea to place paper on the bottom on the carton and on top to prevent the carton from caving in. Plates, saucers and and bowls on their sides and always clearly label fragile cartons. CARTONS, PLANTS, GAS BOTTLES & CHEMICALS Be sure to use small cartons for heavy items. Otherwise the goods can fall through the bottom of the box. When labelling, write on the tape you use, then you can rip it off and use the cartons later. Each state has different quarantine restrictions on plant matter. Be sure to check with the state you are leaving and the one you are heading to to see if you can take plants. Most states are particular about people using old fruit boxes, so steer clear of those if possible to prevent re-packing at the border. Gas bottles can be hazardous. AFRA recommends that they are professionally emptied prior to transport to prevent a fire in transit. Paint and chemicals have been known to seep through cartons in the past and damage peoples precious items. It is best to carry these items in your own vehicle or dispose of them prior to uplift.
