Welcome to ACT Recycling Pty Ltd ACT Recycling Pty Ltd commenced operations in April 2003, having been born from the civil and demolition operations of its parent company Samarkos Earthmoving Pty Ltd. ACT Recycling commenced operations with the recycling of fill, rocks and asphalt using a screen, rollers and loader. The company has expanded to include crushing plant, sorting plant, 8 machines and 20 staff. Since then managements main focus was on developing a sorting process for C & D waste to extract materials for recycling and commissioning a crushing plant for the processing of materials extracted. The company spent 3 years designing, developing and constructing our innovative sorting plant, and commissioned it in October 2007. The plant sorted through 8000 tonnes of construction and demolition waste and achieved a recycling rate of 96%. The combined operation of the company’s sorting and crushing plants has seen the company achieve a consistent recycling rate above 98%. We believe that this recycling rate has not been achieved by any other recycling operator in Australia. Our facility has proven that landfilling this type of waste serves no purpose as most materials are valuable resources. As well as recycling such resources our company employees long term unemployed, training them to be plant operators. About Us Our facility accepts all materials listed on the attached price list for sorting and processing. From these materials, products are sorted and either processed on-site or on sold to other recyclers for processing. Products extracted for processing by other recyclers include, metals, plastics, paper and cardboard. Products extracted for processing at our facility include, concrete, brick, asphalt, timber, rocks and cleanfill. Concrete materials are produced to meet ACT Urban Services Standards, with the remaining materials being processed to a high quality end product. All the processed products are available for re-use at commercial and domestic sites, thereby “Closing the Loop”.
No state or commonwealth licence has been tied to this business in our public sources. This is common for unlicensed trades or for businesses that have not yet been resolved against a jurisdictional register.
Public records are uneven by nature. Stronger records make operating claims easier to inspect. Thin records make the gaps obvious. Evidence beats explanation.
See methodology for how the index resolves duplicates, tiers evidence, and decides what to publish.
