ABOUT US Tad Hendry Building Designer Co-founder of Adapt Design Group - Tad brings a deep seated belief in the power of unique, sustainable design in enhancing lifestyle and well-being. Through extensive travel Tad was exposed to the ingenuity and common sense of building for the environment in varied conditions around the globe. Tad's strong desire to assist clients to maximise the sustainability opportunity drives his design work. He brings an enviable mix of building and drafting experience to his design work allowing for practicalities and creativity to be strong partners in the design process. A building apprenticeship through historical restorations at Coal Creek Historical Village and set building at Channel 7 set the genetics for a carpenter (of 20+ years) who always appreciated aesthetics, built to a vision and implemented economic building practices. The transition from building to design in the last 10 years has been a natural and seamless progression which has seen Tad working on a diverse range of residential projects. ​ He places the greatest priority on the collaboration between client and designer to harness the potential and passion which both parties bring to the table. Away from the computer screen Tad builds and designs award-winning sets for the local theatre company and immerses himself in the coastal environment through sea-kayaking Jess Cuman Building Designer Co-founder of Adapt Design Group - Jess has a passion for cutting edge design and excels at harmonizing practicality and imagination through clever sustainable design Jess' twelve years in the building industry, with experiences ranging from working as an architectural draftsperson on residential & commercial projects as well as working as a steel detailer in an engineering firm, broadens the knowledge base of this contemporary designer. Jess thrives on his capacity and independence to create and explore boundaries in both design and process, as projects evolve under his watchful, critical and creative eye. Having moved between rural and urban environments, Jess has kept a wide and detailed perspective in order to assist clients to gain a holistic view of their built and natural environment. ​ When not meticulously gaining that extra half star energy rating on a project Jess is a talented musician and song-writer, playing in two bands whilst taking a keen interest in fitness and taking advantage of all that coastal living offers. TOGETHER The business partnership between Tad and Jess has flourished over the past 6 years with each sharing strong values and beliefs whilst respecting and exploring the diversity of skills they bring to the company.
