About Mike Dowling Mike Dowling originally started as a horticultural apprentice in New Zealand, which progessed into owning and managing apple and sub-tropical fruit orchards. In 1999, he trained as an arborist and set up his own business. In 2007 he migrated to Australia and continued working as an arborist in Cairns, where he gained valuable knowledge on tropical and native plant species and unique arboricultural issues to Far North Queensland. Mike also has experience in training students as arborists. In 2010, he started his own business Advanced Vegetation Management. Mike holds a Diploma of Horticulture (Arboriculture) RTF 50203 and a Diploma of Forest and Forest Products FP150105. Vegetation Management & Consultancy Services Advanced Vegetation Management specializes in providing: Pruning And Deadwooding: Pruning is required in some instances when trees become too big for their allotted area, or have grown over buildings and require reduction. Often trees in the tropics become internally shaded which causes limbs to die; these limbs can be dangerous to people and property and need to be removed on a regular basis. Tree Removal: While we explore all options before resorting to tree removal, tree removal may be required in some cases due a range of factors, such as overcrowding, dangerous positioning, or tree rot. We are qualified to remove trees safely using the latest equipment and modern techniques including confined space rigging with ropes and overhead cranes for large and difficult removals. Stump Grinding: Often after tree removal, stump grinding is required. We are able to access most confined areas. Chipping And Mulching: Our modern equipment is capable of chipping and we are able to supply various forms of mulch including palm mulch through to wood chips.
