He began his career as an apprentice in the Remote areas of South Australia, following into many years spent in far reaching areas including Birdsville and surrounding stations providing building work to station homes and businesses. This preceeded work in the beautiful Barossa Valley working with gorgeous Sandstone buildings renovations and extensions. After a move to sunny Queensland working for several of Toowoombas leading Builders over a period of 10 years, our hearts lead us to the fruition of our dream and the arrival of Arkaba Constructions in 2011. The name Arkaba is taken from an area close to where Michael was raised in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia in the town of Hawker. The Arkaba Station and Arkaba Woolshed are well know places of Historic significance, Arkaba being an aboriginal word for “special place” to the Adnyamathanha people.
