ABOUT Both Andrew and Glen have been in the residential construction industry for the past 25 years. After finishing their apprenticeships in the early 90’s they teamed up and started their contract carpentry business. The homes they constructed in those early years ranged from “low end” first home buyer builds, right through to “high end” custom architectural working with award winning architects like Frank Machia, Stephen Kidd and Gabriel Pool. A lot of these homes were constructed in Sunshine Beach & Noosa area. The time and experience gained, working with these architects is what has always “inspired” Andrew and Glen to do what they do, which is to “construct custom homes with good design principals that inspire”. They also worked on the Beach Road holiday homes at “Noosa North Shore”. These were all lightweight 1-3 storey beach houses designed by award winning architects like Bark Design, Gall & Medek, Planit and Arkhefield. The experiences gained here were later used to construct the Orchid Beach job using the “mega anchor system” - a footing system engineered for pole homes where supply of concrete or site difficulties are an issue. They were the first builders to use this system on Fraser Island. In 2001 Andrew obtained his builders license and began contracting direct to clients, providing fixed price quotes for deck extensions, studios, granny flats, slab on ground and custom built pole homes on sloping blocks. It was during this period that Glen and Andrew established ASB BUILD. ASB Build now concentrates on mainly small developments, including land acquisition, D/A approvals, mid to high end duplex projects and custom built homes on either flat or sloping and difficult blocks.
