Domestic Building a new house is a very nerve wrecking experience. The first step is to demolish. You need a professional operation that gets the job done on time, complies with all the legal obligations, doesn’t leave anything behind and disrupts the neighborhood as little as possible. An asbestos audit is required for every house being demolished. An asbestos clearance is obtained before demolition commences. We can tailor a package that meets your needs. If urgency is required, we can demolish and load out ASAP. If recycling is important we can strip out, salvage material and then sort through brick, timber, concrete and green waste. Commercial Bernie Rafferty has worked on and supervised many complex strip outs and partial demolition of structures including: 470 St Kilda Road St James Square- cnr William and Bourke Streets Waverly Gardens shopping centre refurbishment Panch-Old Preston hospital State library refurbishment The Lexus Centre (Old Olympic pool) With my experience any difficult project, job can be achieved. Industrial – total demolition This is my specialty and probably my favourite part of demolition. Each project needs a lot of thought before commencing, to carefully work out the safest and quickest way to demolish, taking into consideration the local area, salvage of materials and disposal of contaminated materials. My recent projects, and those that I have supervised include: 41 Exhibition Street – Five storey building in the Melbourne CBD The old dental hospital – Seven level building on the corner of Grattan Street and Flemington Road ( now the site of the new cancer centre) Gregory Street silos in Lake Wendoree, Ballarat A lot of thought went into the demolishing of the 38 concrete re-enforced silos at Lake Wendoree in Ballarat, in 2011. I even pulled the old wrecking ball out of retirement to help demolish the silos that stood 47 metres high. When I first saw the silos it took me back about 25 years ago when working for my father. We had used the same ball to demolish the Burnley silos. Lucky it was still sitting in Ron Rafferty’s yard. So I had to borrow it for this job. I had to laugh when a work safe inspector visited the site. His comment was” crude but effective”. Call us today to discuss your next demolition project!

Public records are uneven by nature. Stronger records make operating claims easier to inspect. Thin records make the gaps obvious. Evidence beats explanation.
