Our Quarries Cairns Marble Australia Pty Ltd was established in 1989 and has been mining the largest and best portfolio of mining leases in Australia.The company has developed a sound business in this time, making every effort to continually improve its corporate and product image by undertaking extensive exploration and testing on all the companies mining reserves. This has resulted in the company developing and acquiring high quality reserves covering a surface area of approximately 331 hectares, located in both Queensland and Western Australia. The high quality marble reserves owned by the company are predominately contained within thirteen (13) leases throughout Chillagoe, Queensland. There are a further six (6) leases within Western Australia. Reserves of these leases have been quantified as being in the average range of 50 metres deep and containing approximately 20.5million tones of fine grain marble. As Chillagoe’s marble resources are non-renewable, a sustainable society requires that we replace these natural assets with other income producing assets, whilst controlling any environmental degradation associated with the extraction of the marble.
