ABOUT Decadent Daylilies Daylily Nursery is fully accredited to post to all states of Australia. We are an Australian owned online mail order nursery, growers, and suppliers of quality daylilies and Irises, and perennials. My plant Nursery is located near the Victorian and New South Wales border in Australia. Daylilies and Irises flower from spring to early summer and can have flushes of flowers during other months of the year. Until recently, the daylily flower was only available in yellow, orange and fulvous red. Today, however, the color range varies from white, bright pink, orange, yellow, vivid red, maroon, lavender, purple to nearly true blue and other exotic blends, thanks to the availability of hybridizing techniques. A single daylily flower stays open for one day but daylilies can have up to 50 flowers on one flowering scape, if you select daylilies with different bloom times, this will give you a continuous long flowering display of 6 to 8 weeks during our peak bloom period. Bloom season is from November to January in Australia. Daylilies love to be mulched as it helps to keep the ground temperature cool. Never ever recycle daylily leaves as mulch because the daylily leaves might have a problem disease. Daylilies have foliage that is either evergreen, semi-evergreen, or winter dormant. The flowering period of daylilies also varies, some flower early in a season others flower towards the end of a season. The majority of modern hybrid daylilies rebloom in autumn, meaning you will have a lovely display of daylilies over an extended period.
