Flexitray Australia is a highly recognised and regarded National Waterproofing Company servicing the building industry throughout Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Established in 1986 Flexitray has developed into a leading supplier of waterproofing services due to our commitment to quality, reliability and integrity. Our vast network of experienced, accredited agents and applicators enables us to promptly complete jobs and stay within our five day call up policy. Now in our twenty fifth year of business we are firmly consolidated as a true leader in the waterproofing industry. Bathrooms All bathroom and wet area waterproofing falls under AS3740, the standard called for in the BCA,this is actually the minimum standard, builders may choose to follow best practice guidelines increasing the extent of waterproofing to a particular room. Generally in a typical bathroom, components waterproofed are, shower walls, bath podiums, wall-floor junctions(concrete floor) or full floors(timber floor). The shower base will be waterproofed if building an insitu shower (tiled base).Ideally, the membrane is applied over the screed..Best practice is to have a membrane under and over the screed. Balconies Balconies or decks can be constructed in many ways, the construction method chosen will determine what type of membrane you should use. In some cases liquid membranes will be fine and offer long term waterproofing reliability, structures that could be susceptible to movement and exposed to high temperature extremes could have a sheet membrane such as Strataflex installed to the substrate, Strataflex can handle up to 9.6mm of joint movement. Flexitray highly recommends all balconies of lightweight construction use a compressed cement sheet substrate, installed to the manufacturers specifications, plyboard is not considered a reliable alternative. Basement Basements with habitable rooms or carparks can have many issues to over come for a successful waterproofing application. Access is a major consideration, if the walls are on the boundary or the site cut has not left enough room for our applicators to work in the job needs to be done in stages. Pre planning and good communication are nessessary for us to work from inside and complete the walls in stages as they are bricked up. Usually your plumber needs to have the drainage system in place at these early stages as well. Protecting the membrane with either coreflute or a drainage panel system is a must, without protection you will compromise the membrane. Screeding Our screed service was introduced to supply builders with quality screeds in all areas of Melbourne and country Victoria. Flexitray will build the shower base using either aluminium angle or hebel hob, install a sheet membrane to the substrate and lay a sand –cement screed. When the screed has cured, at a later stage, all waterproofing is completed including a second membrane over the screed. For more information or to see how we can help you contact us today!!
No state or commonwealth licence has been tied to this business in our public sources. This is common for unlicensed trades or for businesses that have not yet been resolved against a jurisdictional register.
Public records are uneven by nature. Stronger records make operating claims easier to inspect. Thin records make the gaps obvious. Evidence beats explanation.
See methodology for how the index resolves duplicates, tiers evidence, and decides what to publish.
If this is your business, you can claim the record to add a verified contact, licence anchor, and service area.
