"The details are not the details. They make the design". - Charles Eames We believe that each of our designs are a reflection of the unique character of the site, to create a ‘sense of place’ that responds to climate and the local context. Opportunities for passive ventilation and cooling, natural light and views are maximised through design, sitting and orientation. Without engaging in a process of creative re-interpretation of a local vernacular, even the most perfect reproduction is lacking it’s presence in space and time, it’s unique existence at the place where it relates. Engaging in such a process draws in properties such as time, memories, myths, aspirations, creation, materials, form and context which are all key ingredients in an authentic architectural response. All elements of the building contribute to the whole, creating a balanced spatial environment. There is a sense of harmony and balance, common in Japanese architecture, spatial relationships, pauses or intervals, such as the ‘distance’ between two columns in a building, two rocks in a garden, or the interval between two musical notes. Environmental sustainability of our architecture is part of the process rather than an option. We incorporate sustainable principles and appropriate material selection in all our designs relevant to the brief. Principal architect, Wayne Greenland, completed his Master of Architecture at the University of Queensland under the guidance of acknowledged Award Winning Architects, Professor Brit Andresen, Professor Peter Skinner and Bud Brannigan among others. Wayne earned the Deans Commendation of High Achievement six times during the course of his studies. Since graduating Wayne has worked at some of Queensland’s larger & more renowned Award Winning Architectural Firms including Burns Design (BDA) Architects, Paul Uhlmann Architects & Scott Carpenter Architect. This has also allowed Wayne to gain experience with exposure to a broad range and scale of projects from high end residential and beach houses, medium density townhouses and units, multi building unit complexes, high rises, mixed use commercial, hospitality and industrial. Public records are uneven by nature. Stronger records make operating claims easier to inspect. Thin records make the gaps obvious. Evidence beats explanation.
See methodology for how the index resolves duplicates, tiers evidence, and decides what to publish.
If this is your business, you can claim the record to add a verified contact, licence anchor, and service area.
