WHY WE BUILD We create buildings to serve functional purposes. A place to wake, sleep, work, learn, play or socialise in. Great buildings are also created with our environment, culture, past, future, emotions and desires in mind. If you are planning to build, think about talking to an architect about your functions and desires to create your great building. PRACTICE Jakob Kelly Architect (JKA) aims to provide functional and inspired design solutions for regional Victoria. As a young, rurally based architect, servicing the South West Victorian region since 2007, I take a creative approach to solving my clients' problems and designing buildings of which they and their communities can be proud. My architecture has been variously described as promoting curiosity, imagination and wonder. JKA operates over a broad base, being able to advise upon, design and/or deliver multiple building types from major civic projects to a home extension or upgrade. Key philosophies of the practice include building innovation, sustainability and longevity, particularly with regard to the smart use of available local building materials and features. I hope that you find something that stimulates your imagination in the pictures on these web pages. BACKGROUND I am highly qualified in both design and construction management, having completed a Bachelor of Architecture as well as a Bachelor of Construction Management at Deakin University, in Geelong. I completed both of these degrees with Honours. I have also worked in London and Melbourne, where I was exposed to a wide range of civic and private projects, including major upgrade works to the London Underground, in preparation for the overwhelmingly successful 2012 Olympic Games. In 2010 I was a finalist in the Dulux Study Tour, a national competition seeking to identify Australia's most promising emerging architects. Prior to moving my office to Hamilton, I held a senior role at an established regionally based architecture practice. During this time I was heavily involved in the successful delivery of over twenty major capital works and building projects for government and non-government schools. EDUCATION SPACES Jake specialises in the design and delivery of educational facilities. The function of architecture being an important tool to connect students and teachers to their learning and the school to its community. GREEN IS GOOD Jake continues to pursue solutions to the issues of our 21st century community. Most pressing of these issues is converting our consumeristic and fuel dependent lifestyles to a reality of sustainable living REGIONAL ARCHITECTURE Jake cares about regional Victoria architecture and especially South West Victoria where he is based.

Public records are uneven by nature. Stronger records make operating claims easier to inspect. Thin records make the gaps obvious. Evidence beats explanation.
See methodology for how the index resolves duplicates, tiers evidence, and decides what to publish.
If this is your business, you can claim the record to add a verified contact, licence anchor, and service area.
