We are a progressive local, family owned and operated company. Established in Wickham in 1966, Langford’s brought some of the earliest aluminium windows to Newcastle. Quality products, customer service and innovation remain the company’s priority. In the early days, we were creative with a limited range of window suites, basic colour choices and considerable imagination. The projects that we have been involved with include Charlestown Square, Newcastle Permanent Building Society, Darling Harbor, Canberra Convention Centre and Christ Church Cathedral. Today, there are second and third generation family members working in the business. Our windows are extensively used in residential and high end architectural projects. Our Approach Our ability to utilize our forty plus years of experience to match products from our extensive resources sets us apart from our competitors. The modern and innovative Vantage designs are complemented by a wide range of commercial suites, glass types, glass bricks, hardware and screening products. Currently around forty products are on display at our Cardiff showroom. We also have a comprehensive display at the HIA Home Ideas Centre at Mayfield west where our quality is evident. This is backed up by extensive photo displays and technical information. We are more than just a fabricator, we work with our customers through the design and detailing stages of projects to ensure that the windows become the feature of the project that they deserve to be. Our Point of Difference We offer professional and friendly service to suit your individual needs. Whether you require a single sliding door, or an entire house lot, we have the resources, skill and interest in your project. There are some significant points which we would like you to take time to consider when evaluating our product. We offer a wide range of window and door suites, with many different configurations available. You won’t be limited to just one type of sliding window or sliding door. We also offer choices of frames and features across our entire range to meet all locations and situations. Most of our suites have 2 or 3 frame options with air and water infiltration ratings up to 600 pascal. The industry standard is typically 150 pascal. The benefits of better performance are an investment for a lifetime - no rattles, no air whistle, added comfort in the cold of winter, peace of mind. Our screens are manufactured from fully extruded sections, not the cheaper rolled form section. This ensures that your screens maintain their strength even after multiple removals for cleaning. Our door screens do not have mid-rails. We manufacture our hinged and sliding screen doors from heavily extruded screen sections, eliminating the need for a bulky mid-rail that interrupts the view. Schedules and details are just part of the service. We assist you and your builder or architect in scheduling your sizes to allow consistent head heights throughout, sill details - for doors to disappear into the floor – we aim always to provide for the optimum solution Our hardware is specifically designed and approved for use with our window systems. We offer keyed hardware as standard. Deadlocking, colour matching & customized options are available as required. Our rollers are heavy duty and salt resistant, and adjustable, even in our sliding windows. As is often the case, it is the things that you can’t see that make the difference. Our quality mohair and rubber seals prevent air and water infiltration, and all of our fittings and screws are stainless steel. Within our design range we can suit up to level 3 bushfire zone, along with certain flame zone requirements. We have a multitude of glass options available to suit any basix requirement. From simply trying to reduce the afternoon glare, to reducing heat loss or gain, we have the answers. We offer 5mm glass in our standard doors and 6.38mm minimum in our non standard doors. There are inferior options available, many companies using only 4mm. Double glazing and high performance low E glass are available throughout our range and offer safety, noise, UV reduction and thermal benefits. Window selection is a major item in the construction process and it should be optimized and tailored to produce aesthetics, design and function for your project. The features we consider as standard are often optional extras with other companies.
No state or commonwealth licence has been tied to this business in our public sources. This is common for unlicensed trades or for businesses that have not yet been resolved against a jurisdictional register.
Public records are uneven by nature. Stronger records make operating claims easier to inspect. Thin records make the gaps obvious. Evidence beats explanation.
