APPLIANCE TESTING AND TAGGING Inspect and test the electrical integrity of electrical appliances to reduce the possibility of electrical faults, electrocution and items causing electrical fires. RCD TESTING (Earth Fault Switch, Safety Switch) RCD’s SAVE LIVES. Everyone should do a push button test on their RCD’s on a regular basis to ensure their mechanism is operating correctly. To save lives they are required to trip with in 300 Milli-seconds (less than a blink of the eye) and should be trip time tested twice yearly, which we do using an appliance that records the actual trip times. EMERGENCY AND EXIT LIGHTING In the event of a black-out or fire all buildings are required to have emergency lighting and exit signs to provide light and to direct people to the nearest exit. These systems are required to be serviced and maintained twice a year. SMOKE ALARMS MAINTENANCE Smoke alarms require testing and servicing, including a change of battery, at least once a year to ensure effective protection. UPS BATTERY REPLACEMENT Un-interrupted Power Supply (UPS) provide short term power when the mains power fails, mainly used on computers and servers. The source of power in a UPS is supplied by batteries. These batteries have a life expectancy of 2-3 years and battery replacement is a cost effective way to extend the life of a UPS. MICROWAVE RADIATION LEAKAGE AND POWER OUTPUT Microwaves use radio waves to heat and cook food the radio waves should be contained within the appliance. Escaping or Leaking radio waves can cause internal burns. The main causes of leakage are damaged locking mechanism, external damage and faulty seals. Power output of a microwave determines the cooking time; loss of power may result in under cooked food and possibly cause food poisoning. We will visit your premises and test your microwave ovens using an advanced microwave survey meter calibrated by a NATA recognised laboratory. Why Test and Tag? Public records are uneven by nature. Stronger records make operating claims easier to inspect. Thin records make the gaps obvious. Evidence beats explanation.
