ABOUT The company started from our desire to take home a table made from lumber salvaged from the base of the Panama Canal as a memento of our time working on the Panama Canal expansion. In searching for our table, we fell in love with the exotic timbers available from the Panama rainforests and the innovative methods used to obtain them sustainably. It was our dream to bring a part of Panama back to Australia with us and we believe we have found a very special way to do this. One of our unique sources of timber are trees reclaimed from rain forests drowned in Lake Gatun when the Panama Canal was created over 100 years ago by the damming of the Chargres river. Ships traverse over 33km of Gatun lake as part of the transit of the canal. This timber has now been under water in the bottom of the Panama Canal for 100 years. Timeless.
