ABOUT US Peraway Marble (Aust) P/L was established in 1978, by it’s founder and currently active director, Antonio Guzzardi. He migrated to Australia from Italy in the 1950’s and continued his trade of a Terrazzo polisher. Terrazzo gradually died down in the early 1970’s , and it was at this point that Antonio devoted his efforts and skills towards marble and granite, with his transition being seamless from working with terrazzo to working with natural stone, as the majority of the processes being identical. It was late 1978 when Antonio opened his first factory with a basic Jenny Lind column polishing machine, and started production in his own right. The early days were basically spent cutting, laying and polishing Travertine insitu. Eventually demand was so excessive that Antonio began importing directly 1980. In 1982 the first bridge saw was imported and commissioned followed by a second Jenny Lind column polisher and a flag saw. I n 1984, Antonio was at the forefront of the industry with his firm being one of the first to commission an automatic marble and granite slab polisher, this was shortly followed in 1985 by a diamond tool contouring machine, which meant, that whilst the competition was shaping out bullnose profile with dry diamond tools, Peraway Marble (Aust) P/L was effecting the same work more efficiently and with a positive view to occupational health and safety.
