Good design lasts forever... For overthirty years, we have been designing and making furniture from solid timbers. Each piece is crafted individually, not mass-produced, and we can custom-make it to your measurements, timber choice and finishes. It is how we've always worked even in the beginning. We began in a farm shed in 1972 when my father, John, decided he had seen enough poorly manufactured, disposable furniture. Using time proven traditional methods like mortice and tenon joints and dovetail drawers, he started to craft furniture from solid timbers. Ten years later, as the company grew and employed more and more local trades people, we moved to our factory showroom in the Adelaide hills. Today our furniture is sold in specialty furniture shops in Melbourne, as well as in our new store in Cremorne, Sydney and Norwood, Adelaide. My mother Vivienne, and my brother, David, are also in the business, together with myself developing our designs. We hope you enjoy this introduction to Pfitzner Furniture and look forward to seeing you soon. About Us Quality that lasts If you look underneath any piece of Pfitzner Furniture, you'’ll find our original logo featuring John. This is now our Guarantee of Quality seal. We like to think that decades, and possibly even centuries – from now, your family will still be enjoying our furniture. Attention to detail You can'’t beat the old ways of individually ‘bench-making’ furniture. Each of our craftsmen works on just one piece at a time, whether an entertainment unit or an armchair, and gives it their full attention. It takes longer, but this ensures perfection from start to finish. Craftsmanship While much of our work is with contemporary designs, we also create many antique styles and exquisitely detailed modern pieces. Eye-catching designs are hand-carved and hand-finished; contrasting timbers are used for borders and inlays. The details are precise, balanced and elegant, setting them apart from those of mass-produced items. Nothing impractical With our furniture, you won'’t find features that just don'’t make sense. If there i’s a drawer, we make sure it’ is big enough to be useful. If it is a dining table for six, it means six people can dine comfortably without banging elbows. If it i’s an entertainment unit, we make it to suit your components and media, you don'’t have to find the narrowest DVD player or store your vinyl records in an adjacent milk crate. And if it’ is a bed, there are no sharp edges to scrape your fingers on when you tuck in the sheets.
No state or commonwealth licence has been tied to this business in our public sources. This is common for unlicensed trades or for businesses that have not yet been resolved against a jurisdictional register.
Public records are uneven by nature. Stronger records make operating claims easier to inspect. Thin records make the gaps obvious. Evidence beats explanation.
See methodology for how the index resolves duplicates, tiers evidence, and decides what to publish.
If this is your business, you can claim the record to add a verified contact, licence anchor, and service area.
