WELCOME TO PROFLOORSANDING The business was formed in the mid 90's due to the increased popularity of floating laminate and engineered flooring but more importantly to give customers a professional installation service within their much loved homes. As trends changed, people realised that timber flooring was a more attractive alternative to carpets, easy to maintain and free of dust allergies. More people were removing their floor coverings and discovering they had aged wooden floors hidden underneath which could be restored. Those who owned the more modern home with concrete subfloors wanted options to be able to have solid wood or floating floors installed. Therefore we moved forward to accommodate requirements and added more services to our existing portfolio to include floor sanding and polishing, solid timber flooring installations by either direct stick or mechanical fix, as well as laminate and engineered floating floors. We then progressed into the commercial sector covering schools, hotels, pubs, nightclubs, restaurants, gymnasiums, leisure centres, churches, listed buildings and various other commercial properties that required new installations or renovation work on their existing timber floors. As timber floor restoration work became more popular we found the majority of our work was in this field. We have many years experience in the timber flooring industry so whether it is a smaller floor in a residential home or a large commercial sports floor we will offer you advice and a free no obligation quote. RESTORATIONS WHAT WE CAN PROVIDE We offer a clean and tidy floor sanding, repair and polishing service to both domestic and commercial sectors. Our state of the art machines are made by the German Company Lagler and have excellent extraction systems built into them which keeps the dust to a minimum ensuring a clean and tidy work place. We understand this is your home or work environment and we try to keep it as clean and dust free as possible. Once your floors are repaired, sanded and polished we have a choice of finishes that can be applied, the most popular being solvent based polyurethanes, water based polyurethane and oil based products. These products are available in high gloss, semi gloss, satin and matt. We can stain your floors with various colour options if required but we recommend keeping the wood natural (Natural is best). NEW FLOOR INSTALLATIONS ABOUT OUR SERVICE We offer a supply and installation service or if you choose to buy your own products we also offer an installation only service. Floating Floors Laminate flooring: The latest click system laminate flooring products come in many colours and styles to suit most environments. The quality of finish and durability of modern laminate products makes this a convincing, cost saving alternative to having a real wood floor in either domestic or commercial properties (Installed using floating floor method) Engineered flooring: This product is the most cost effective option to having a real wooden floor. Engineered boards are prefinished and are available in many species of timber, grades and colours. They are usually manufactured in longer lengths and widths than solid wood flooring with a thickness between 13mm and 21mm and with a hardwood top layer between 4mm and 6mm depending on the product and brand. This is an excellent alternative to a solid wood floor due to ease of installation and the structure of the board makes it an extremely stable product. Excellent choice for residential properties (Installed using floating floor method) Direct Stick / Secret Nailed Solid wood flooring comes either prefinished or unfinished in many species, grades and colours. Prefinished Solid wood flooring comes from the manufacturers fully machined, sanded and lacquered and therefore, once your floor has been installed it is then complete and no further work is required. The product comes in various widths, lengths and thicknesses; some brands having micro bevelled edges so once installed it gives a true natural plank floor. Unfinished Solid wood flooring comes from the manufacturers fully machined but not sanded or lacquered, therefore, once the floor has been installed it has to be sanded, polished and sealed with a product of your choice.
