Our Practice The architectural consultancy of Realize was established by its principal Mr Terry Savill to provide innovative, substantive and erudite design solutions to each and every client brief, while at all times ensuring a steady and controlled approach to the process of design and documentation. Realize was established in 2002 to provide architectural services and consultancy from its Stanwell Park base. Previously, principal and general manager Mr Terry Savill had eighteen years of practice directorship with Architectural Projects in Surry Hills, where he was a founding partner and co-Director. The list of clients using Realize includes government bodies, builders and developers, project managers and property owners. We are proud to be able to say that a significant proportion of our business is through return clients, happy to engage in ongoing projects because of the personal service and professional outcomes. Our Involvement Realize recognizes that each client presents a unique project brief and opportunity. Our designs reflect the specific inputs of each project brief, and do not endeavour to force a style or an outcome. That is, each project is a clean slate, with which we realize a unique result. While the practice is set in the small seaside idyll of Stanwell Park, kilometres from the stress of the big smoke, Realize provide efficient services to clients as far flung as Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle and beyond, including rural and regional NSW, and even overseas to Malaysia. The practice takes advantage of all IT possibilities offered by the internet and operates using Intel Core Duo iMacs and servers. All projects are efficiently managed via the specialised architectural project management package ArchiOffice which tracks time and cost in addition to documents and performance. Subsequently, as the design develops we are able to show realistic 3D views, and even ‘walk you through’ your ESD virtual project. Our clients benefit from the direct involvement of all members of staff as we encourage peer criticism at important intervals in projects and encourage vigourous discussion on design theory and application. Services Architecture and Planning Of all those about to take part in the delivery of your building project, only your architects will have a holistic understanding of the complete building reality. Because realizing a building is a complicated process involving many people and much design co-ordination and consultant knowledge, it generally involves a number of stages of work. As your architect we manage all aspects of the realization process to provide the best possible building works outcome. Interiors As your architect, we apply our skills and creativity to ensure the most dynamic of spatial arrangements and the best of fittings and furnishings. This Realization enhances and compliments the architectural form and space. Working with you we prepare a range of selections for all surfaces, fittings, furniture items and lights; we work to ensure that the design is rich in texture, multi-layered with detail and meaning, and adjustable to moods; all to enhance the final quality of your space. Building Info and Modelling Through the rigours of applying ArchiCAD on projects we are able to produce much more than just a set of plans. The Building Information Modelling Capacity of the CAD program ensures project schedules for doors, windows and other fittings and fixtures are accurately produced and consistent with the design intent. Furthermore, with the use of ‘Ecodesigner’ we perform ongoing energy analysis of our design and the building materials, to ensure the best ESD outcomes. A full Bill of Quantities for the project is the eventual outcome of applying this Building Information Modelling package. 3D The medium is the message. Understanding how the impact of an image can educate, inform, refine or sell an idea or a product, we are always mindful of how to prepare that image for its intended purpose. Whether its to see how your LCD TV will fit in your new home theatre, or to show the furniture layout options of your residential units development, we can produce the images you need. Rendering ESD We believe it is imperative to integrate sustainable strategies into the design process to provide a better result for our clients and for the planet. We take an overall approach, as we believe good design should go hand in hand with all environmentally sustainable building strategies.
