Our association with the manufacturers of our quality products has been long and fruitful. We fully support the companies manufacturing our products, they in turn support us with new innovations and keep abreast of the market lead. Our work has seen us construct or surface over 7000 courts world wide along with basketball courts, netball courts, badminton courts, gymnasium floors, running tracks and all indoor or outdoor sporting venues. I know we have the ability to perform. I know we have the products to suite your needs. Construction Tennis Court Construction - Commercial Although the base of tennis courts can be of road base and asphalt or concrete, Recreational Surfacing Pty Ltd prefer to use a concrete slab. Concrete tennis courts technology has changed dramatically whereby the numerous expansion joints are not necessary. Depending on site conditions the normal slab is 100mm thick reinforced with F72 mesh. The strength of the concrete is 25mpa. The normal construction of a tennis court: The land is graded to give a 1% fall either diagonally (preferred) across the court, lengthways but not a two way fall from the centre. Tru-flex is manufactured in Australia under licence from America by Dulux Pty Ltd. As you may be aware Dulux Pty Ltd is owned by ICI Australia Pty Ltd, one of Australia’s largest companies. Dulux also offer a six year warranty on the Tru-flex surface as well as the warranty offered by Recreational Surfacing Pty Ltd. Tru-flex is probably the finest recreational acrylic surface available in the world today. Recreational Surfacing Pty Ltd has been using Tru-flex for the past 22 years. Tru-flex is 100% sand filled acrylic emulsion that has surfaced over 5500 sporting venues throughout Australia over the years. The product is totally non slip in wet or dry conditions, has duller colour pigmentation for lower eye fatigue and utilises a specially rounded silica sand that gives a surface that does not unnecessarily abrade shoes. Specially reinforced colour pigments give the surface a sharp colour that will not fade under the severe ultra violet rays of the sun. Pacific Grass is a 100% polypropylene fibre tufted into a polypropylene woven heat set ultraviolet stabilised backing. This backing is then coated with a styrene butadine rubber latex. Pacific Grass insures a cool glare free surface which minimises leg fatigue yet still allows consistent ball bounce. A number of large Australian company’s have come together in the manufacture of this product including ICI Plastics Pty Ltd one of the worlds biggest chemical companies that produces the virgin polypropylene granules. Ciba Chemicals and Grass Manufacturers Pty Ltd extrude the polypropylene granules and add the colorants and ultraviolet stabilisers. Mattex International Group is one of the world’s fastest growing textile polyolefin converting companies supplies the woven polypropylene for the primary backing. Rubber Latex Pty Ltd provides the butadiene rubber for the secondary backing. With the support of these large companies Pacific Grass is manufactured. The principals of this company have had over 27 years experience in synthetic grass tennis courts. Our laying of the synthetic grass has been fine tuned over these 27 years to a stage where long warranties can be very confidently offered. Pacific Grass is laid in 3.66 metre strips (12 foot strips). The longitudinal lines are actually tufted into the Pacific Grass which cuts down dramatically on the number of seams incurred on tennis court installation. Specially graded and washed silica sand from a quarry in Newcastle is broomed into the pile. This sand is specially rounded and graded to ensure that it is non abrasive and does not “powder”. Approximately 14 tonnes of sand shall be utilised. Overseas Construction Since its inception in 1980 Recreational Surfacing Pty Ltd has completed extensive work overseas.
