He started his career as a furniture maker 10 years ago as an apprentice at Jimmy Possum furniture where he learnt vital skills of the trade. After leaving there in 2005 he worked for another local furniture company before deciding to go out on his own. It was in 2010 Simon Wilson furniture was born and the company is now trading and is supplying both Australian recycled hardwood and new Australian hardwood furniture australia wide. Sustainability Practices New Timber All new hardwood timber is sourced from a Melbourne based timber supplier brittonstimber.com.au – where they source the wood from sustainably managed temperate forests of North West Tasmania. Sustainability is achieved through compliance with the Forest Practises Code and Regional Forest Agreement. Recycled Timber Recycled Australian hardwood is currently used to make 70% of our furniture. The timber is sourced from local demolition yards which are pulling down houses, bridges, churches, sporting grounds from the 1950′s, 60′s and 70′s. Simon Wilson Furniture does not use any material that is not a sustainable resource and Simon personally speaks to timber companies to ask this question. This is to assure that these products will not effect Australian rain forests in future.
No state or commonwealth licence has been tied to this business in our public sources. This is common for unlicensed trades or for businesses that have not yet been resolved against a jurisdictional register.
Public records are uneven by nature. Stronger records make operating claims easier to inspect. Thin records make the gaps obvious. Evidence beats explanation.
See methodology for how the index resolves duplicates, tiers evidence, and decides what to publish.
If this is your business, you can claim the record to add a verified contact, licence anchor, and service area.
