Solo is a 100% Australian owned and operated waste management and industrial services organisation that has been providing solutions for government, business and households for over 80 years. We specialise in the collection, transport, processing and disposal of all forms of waste including garbage, recyclables, organics, liquid, medical, hazardous, construction and demolition and commercial and industrial waste. Solo also manufacture waste equipment including collection vehicles, bins, skips and compactors. We have designed, built and manage waste facilities such as transfer stations and recycling plants and manage several landfill operations also. We provide services to municipal, commercial and residential customers in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. Household Waste Solutions Households generally have most of their waste removed through a regular kerbside wheelie bin collection or similar. But sometimes you might need extra waste collected, or you may need another type of service, like a septic tank pump out. Solo specialise in services to households, whether they be a regular service, or a one off. We’re ready to help with your waste disposal and recycling and we pride ourselves on a quick response and reliable and professional services. Household Recycling Recycling in households was introduced in many Council areas during the 1980s when Solo developed a divided bin that allowed residents to put garbage in one half of the bin and recycling in the other. The collection vehicle was also divided and had two back doors so the material was able to be kept separate for unloading at the landfill (garbage) or processing facility (recycling). Private Wheelie Bins Wheelie bins have been used in Australia since the 1970s and Solo have used their practical design to develop the side loading garbage truck, now seen as an industry standard. Our range of bins now extends from 60L up to 360L and some would argue even larger, as industrial bins from 660L to 4500L also come on wheels, but in their case its 4 wheels, not 2. Different bin sizes suit different uses and materials being deposited, with the standard 240L still far and away the most popular for household and business use. Skip Bins We call the bins that are between 4.5 cubic metres and 75 cubic metres skip bins. They may also be called roll on, roll off bins or hook bins, describing the way they are loaded on to the truck. 4.5 cubic metre skip bins are often called Merrell bins and are loaded using corner chains. Those between 0.66 cubic metres and 4.5 cubic metres we describe as industrial or trade waste bins. Skip bins have no lid and often have one end as a gate so you can wheelbarrow or walk in waste. Skip bins are ideal for a construction or demolition site or for a major household clean up. Because only 1 bin is collected by the truck at a time, skip bins can be used to dispose of heavy materials such as soil, bricks, rocks and concrete rubble. Larger industrial sites may also find them more practical than a front lift bin due to their increased size and ability to take larger objects. Building materials such as timber and sheeting is suited to disposal using skip bins given the width of approximately 2.5m and length of approximately 3.5m. No state or commonwealth licence has been tied to this business in our public sources. This is common for unlicensed trades or for businesses that have not yet been resolved against a jurisdictional register.
Public records are uneven by nature. Stronger records make operating claims easier to inspect. Thin records make the gaps obvious. Evidence beats explanation.
See methodology for how the index resolves duplicates, tiers evidence, and decides what to publish.
If this is your business, you can claim the record to add a verified contact, licence anchor, and service area.
