Why Stone? Well why not? For building and landscaping you simply can't do better. Stone is weather proof and long lived. Whether you use it in rustic or formal designs, it signifies good taste. In this age of throwaways, stone is also psychologically appealing, it represents strength, stability and permanence. ABOUT 1977 saw the beginning of my career when I started a 5 year Master Masons apprenticship covering all aspects of masonry but it was working with stone that gave me greatest pleasure . Since those early days i've worked on some of Englands finest buildings including Roman and Medieval. I was also an approved contractor for both English Heritage and the National Trust. In 1999 following our move to Australia I worked as a bricklayer for a few years until 2005 when I found my way back into Heritage thanks to a freind who asked me to restore their Heritage property. this re-ignited the spark and passion that I have for working with character properties. Since then I have been lucky enough to work on some of Austarlia's finest Heritage buildings including His majesty's Theatre, Fremantle Prison, Penshurst house, The old Post office Albany, Vancouver Arts Centre and The traditional Chinese Cemeteries of Christmas Island to name a few.
