Tree Pruning There are a number of options for pruning, depending on your tree’s circumstances. Our qualified Arborist will assess the tree and recommend the best solution. Tree Removal At last resort, the tree may need to be completely removed due to the tree being deemed dead, diseased, or causing harm or potential hazardous risk to buildings, people or public spaces. In some cases, the Local Council will require a Tree Permit prior to the tree being removed. Check your local Council’s Tree Preservation Order to determine if you need to obtain a permit. The method for taking the tree down depends on the size, condition and location of the tree. Often we may choose to use equipment such as cherry pickers, elevated work platforms, cranes, and manual lowering devices to assist in the safe dismantling of the tree. Our qualified arborist will assess the tree to determine the best method of removing the tree safely. Stump Grinding Stumps are hard to remove by hand an often need to be ground out with a stump grinding machine. The machine has a circular blade with tungsten tip cutting teeth that slews side to side taking small bits out of the stump with every pass. All types and size tree stumps (up to 10m diameter),can be removed, including stumps in areas difficult to access. On most occasions, the stump is ground out completely (up to 2ft deep) allowing replanting afterwards. Sometimes if there are underground utilities (e.g. water pipes), only the stump surface can be removed (i.e level with the ground) to avoid damage to underground services.
