Welcome to our mother and daughter family business known as Bryan H Tonkin situated at Kalorama in The Dandenong Ranges. Our nursery commenced after Bryan's return from WW11, it was his love of rare and unusual bulbs and perennials, together with his keen interest in propagation that formed the Mail Order business that we still run today. The loss of Bryan in 1996 has only made us more determined to successfully look after his gems as well as collecting other plants from around the world. We pride ourselves on supplying high quality bulbs and perennials that have all been grown on our farm over the past 60 years. We specialise in Crocus, Fritillaria, Erythroniums, Nerines, Galanthus, Paeonies, Liliums, Hosta, Lily of the Valley, Sandersonia and much more. If you are searching for that special something we welcome all enquiries and will endeavour to help if we can (even if it is only seed!). Our business is a mail order services using Australia post. We are fully accredited to send AUSTRALIA WIDE. All orders for Tasmania, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia will be accompanied with all relevant Quarantine certificates. Although we do not grow stock in pots for purchase we are open by appointment if you wish to save the postage on your treasures. We currently produced a Summer and a Winter cataloque each Year. Bulbs in our Summer catalogue are available from January to the middle of April. Bulbs and perennials in our Winter catalogue are available from May to the middle of August.
No state or commonwealth licence has been tied to this business in our public sources. This is common for unlicensed trades or for businesses that have not yet been resolved against a jurisdictional register.
Public records are uneven by nature. Stronger records make operating claims easier to inspect. Thin records make the gaps obvious. Evidence beats explanation.
See methodology for how the index resolves duplicates, tiers evidence, and decides what to publish.
If this is your business, you can claim the record to add a verified contact, licence anchor, and service area.
